The Jay Jordan IFA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship Program 2019 (Partly Funded to the USA).

The OCLC and the International Library Association and Institutions are now accepting applications for library professionals to participate in the 2019 Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC early career fellowship.

This is an intensive 4 weeks program in Ohio, USA. The program gives fellows opportunities to meet with leading information professionals and explore topics including information technologies,library operations and management and global cooperative librarianship. The 2019 programme will run from March 16 to April 12, 2019.

The fellows visit many libraries, cultural heritage institution and library organisation.

Program guidelines

The Fellowship Program is for library and information science professionals who are in early stages of career development and from countries with developing economies. Eligibility is limited to those who are from a qualifying country, have a degree in library or information science obtained within the past five years, and have at least three years, but no more than eight years, of library or information science experience.
Provisions of Award

The award provides the following for each Fellow:

Ø  Airfare, coach class, from the recipient’s home country to the United States and return trip to the recipient’s home country (transportation to and from the airport in the recipient’s home country is the responsibility of the award recipient). Note: All travel arrangements must be made through OCLC’s travel agency.

Ø  Transportation related to library visits (arranged by OCLC).

Ø  Lodging (arranged by OCLC).

Ø  Subsistence, including meals.
